Our Housing Options Team is a busy, thriving team who are constantly working towards creating a community free of homelessness. We provide advice, information and assistance with all housing issues within the Borough.

We are looking for two motivated and enthusiastic housing professionals to become part of the team. We are looking to recruit one permanent employee and one employee on a maternity cover contract. 

You will advise and support clients in negative housing situations and will enable mediation between tenants and landlords and within families in order to prevent homelessness. The job also includes producing advisory literature regarding housing issues, creating reports for Senior Officers and stepping in to secure appropriate emergency accommodation.

You will have housing related training and knowledge of homelessness legislation and case law. An ability to interpret and communicate complex information is essential as is being an adaptable, sympathetic and organised individual. A full driver’s license is required.

As this job involves contact with vulnerable groups, successful applicants will be required to obtain a Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Assistance will be given by the Council and further details will be in the job application pack.
