Are you a senior professional within a heritage organisation?  Or do you have significant experience in landscape management or bio-diversity activities and  looking to make a difference to one of the most significant heritage assets in Woking by joining the Brookwood Cemetery Board?

Brookwood Cemetery, considered by Historic England as a site of national significance.  Founded in 1852 by the London Necropolis and National Mausoleum Company to house London's dead and by the 1860s the site accommodated over 3,500 burials per year.

Due to the increasing scale of business activity being delivered upon behalf of the Council through its subsidiaries, the Council wishes to increase the level of independent oversight of the companies.

We are looking for Board members who can enhance the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the organisation.  In addition, we are particularly interested to hear from individuals connected to and representative of the Woking population, particularly in relation to gender and ethnic background.

Applicants will not qualify for the role of Independent Directors if they are politically active, either Party Political or in an active Protest Group or are conflicted by the nature of their employment or other activity.

We hope you will consider making an application. If you have questions about the appointment and would find it helpful to have an informal conversation, please contact Peter Bryant on 01483 743783.
