Head of Transformation and Digital
‘Inspirational’ is often a word associated with Woking. The borough has influenced artists, writers, musicians and business leaders, who have each gone on to create significant moments that have shaped a future rich in culture, sustainable resources and economic success.
That’s because we’ve nurtured a reputation for getting things done, putting residents first and creating the best sustainable environments and opportunities for people and businesses to thrive in.
The new Chief Executive and the Corporate Leadership Team are eagerly facing the challenges of transforming the ways the Council does some of its business through:
- applying Digital First principles and thinking;
- embedding a culture of consultation into decision making processes;
- making the most of our commercial and entrepreneurial investments and opportunities and
- further establishing collaborative, integrated and partnership ways of working in order to deliver the best services and outcomes for the communities of Woking.
This new post of Head of Transformation and Digital will report to the Chief Executive and work closely with the Corporate Leadership Team. You will be the corporate lead for Service Transformation; Strategic Planning; Programme and Project Management; Performance Management and IT and Digital Services.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the core of helping to shape and deliver a corporate vision and strategy fit for the next 5 years to ensure that the Council builds on the great foundations that have been put in place for the next phase of Woking’s exciting future. This is a fantastic opportunity in a bold, ‘can do’ authority that is committed to creating sustainable communities.
You will be educated to degree level with a demonstrable track record in public sector transformation and organisational change. A service leader who empowers their teams and others, you will be future focused, innovative in your thinking and inspirational in advocating for collaborative and integrated working.
The Council offers in return a generous flexi time scheme with the ability to take two flexi days a month, membership of the local government pension scheme, discounted health and leisure membership, plus many more excellent benefits.
Under the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009, this post is politically restricted and you will be disqualified from being a Councillor, Member of Parliament or Member of the European Parliament. The regulations restrict the post holder from undertaking canvassing on behalf of a political party or a person who is or seeks to be a candidate or speaking to the public at large or publishing any written or artistic work that could give the impression that they are advocating support for a political party.
