An Independent Director appointed to one company will receive £7,115, a second and subsequent appointment will be at 50% of this rate
Working Pattern:
Part Time
Minimum of 3 board meetings per annum of between 1 – 3 hours. Additional meetings organised on an ad hoc basis.

Are you a CFO, Marketing, Housing or Renewable Energy senior professional looking to make a difference to the energy and housing sector by joining the ThamesWey Board?

ThamesWey is an independent limited company with a single shareholder in Woking Borough Council.  Set up in 1999 to focus on tackling climate change through carbon reduction. These environmental priorities have since evolved into the Woking 2050 strategy, which places sustainability at the heart of broader efforts to meet the demands of development and the local economy.

ThamesWey is in a unique position to help create and enhance communities that are truly sustainable.

Due to the increasing scale of business activity being delivered upon behalf of the Council through its subsidiaries, the Council wishes to increase the level of independent oversight of the companies. 

We are looking for Board members who can enhance the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the organisation.  In addition, we are particularly interested to hear from individuals connected to and representative of the Woking population, particularly in relation to gender and ethnic background.

Applicants will not qualify for the role of Independent Directors if they are politically active, either Party Political or in an active Protest Group or are conflicted by the nature of their employment or other activity.
