Woking Borough Council is looking for a caring, reliable and customer-focused Community Meals Officer to join our Community Meals team at Hale End Court.
This rewarding role is at the heart of supporting older and vulnerable residents to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life. You'll be responsible for delivering a high-quality meal service, providing daily welfare checks and creating a welcoming dining experience where residents feel valued, supported and connected.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing, serving and monitoring nutritious meals for residents.
- Providing friendly day-to-day support and welfare observations.
- Building positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and record keeping.
- Supporting residents with dignity, respect and compassion.
- Working closely with Housing, Careline and other support services when concerns arise.
- Helping create a positive, social environment that promotes wellbeing and independence.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with people and has excellent customer service skills.
- Is caring, patient and committed to delivering excellent services.
- Can work independently and use their initiative.
- Has good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Is a team player with a flexible and positive attitude.
Previous experience within hospitality, catering, health, care, community services or customer service would be beneficial, but just as important is your commitment to supporting residents and delivering outstanding service.
