Woking Borough Council is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Estates Officer to help us deliver outstanding estate management across our housing stock. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving communal areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and working collaboratively with residents, contractors, and internal teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conducting regular estate inspections to tackle issues like fly-tipping, vandalism, and repairs.
  • Managing cleaning and grounds maintenance contracts to ensure high standards.
  • Supporting communal facilities such as bin stores and parking spaces.
  • Ensuring fire safety and health & safety compliance in communal areas.
  • Collaborating with Housing Officers and ASB Officers to address anti-social behaviour.
  • Promoting resident engagement through walkabouts, meetings, and events.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service improvement initiatives.

 What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in housing, estate management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety and fire safety in communal areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • IT literacy and experience with housing or asset management systems.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
