Estates Officer
Woking Borough Council are seeking an Estates Officer with good communication skill, technical knowledge and work ethic who is also working towards MRICS status to join our busy Property Services Team.
The Property Services Team has a proven track record in training surveyors with the current Head of Property overseeing four candidates achieving MRICS status at the first attempt.
You will be working in the Property Services team which is made up of approximately 35 people in 7 teams; Building Surveying, Engineering, Facilities Management, Estates, Property Finance, Surface Water Drainage / Flooding and Highways.
Our Estates team has 5 surveyors / officers and the Estates Officer role sits within this team.
Woking Borough Council has a good track record of successful property management. The Council holds a large and highly valuable investment portfolio, consisting of around 60 commercial properties, comprising mainly office and retail with a limited amount of industrial. In addition the Council has an operational portfolio which supports the delivery of services by the Council on behalf of residents.
You will have responsibility for handling cases relating to rent reviews, lease renewals, debtors, management of service charge, easements, rights of way, encroachments, wayleaves, granting of licences, FOI’s and dealing with day-to-day estate matters.
