Support Officer x 2
Would you like the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives? Do you enjoy being part of a team that works hard to help our Borough’s tenants? Do you have a ‘can do’ attitude and happy to lend a hand with whatever task is needed?
Woking Borough Council is seeking Support Officers (in both Hale End Court - Old Woking and Brockhill - Goldsworth Park) to support the tenants of our Extra Care Schemes in living independent and fulfilling lives whilst also caring for their health and wellbeing.
The post will involve being responsible for new activity ideas, events, fundraising and the planning of trips and social outings for tenants. The Support Officer will help tenants to receive the appropriate emotional and physical care and support and assist with all administrative duties, social media and sourcing volunteers to help at our schemes.
Experience of working with or supporting older or disabled people is essential to the role, as is the ability to show empathy and understanding to the needs of the tenants. You will be able to clearly and confidently communicate with a range of stakeholders including tenants, volunteers and next of kin. To be successful in this role you will be reliable, hardworking and a team player, potentially providing support at either scheme where required.
Candidates must have a clean driving licence and own transport as travel between our two Extra Care Schemes will be necessary at times.
These posts are offered as a full time role on a 12 month fixed term contract.
